COTTAGE GROVE - Two weeks off didn't hurt Dan Woodward's timing, and his passing carried the Rogue Warriors to a convincing 24-2 win over Springfield Saturday in an Oregon Football League game at Cottage Grove High School.

Woodward, who missed the team's game two weeks ago due to a family obligation, connected on 11 of his first 16 passes and finished with 285 yards and two touchdowns as the Warriors won their second straight game and moved into a three-way tie for second on a wild day in the OFL, highlighted by Vancouver's upset of Klamath.

The Vipers, who lost at Umpqua Valley in overtime last week, got a pair of touchdowns from Jason Pabillano and solid defense in a 15-13 upset of the Crusaders, who had averaged 48.5 points in their two wins.

Portland got a late fumble return for a touchdown and beat Umpqua Valley 13-10 in a battle of league unbeatens.

The Oregon Outlaws won at High Desert, 43-33, to earn their first win.

Saturday's results left Portland as the lone unbeaten team and seven of the league's eight teams with at least one win.

Rogue plays host to Vancouver next week, while Klamath plays at Umpqua Valley - the Knights' fourth-straight home game.

Woodward's right arm powered the Warriors in the first half, when all the scoring happened.

The Warriors drove 49 yards in seven plays with their second possession for the game's first score, a 6-yard run by Nick Balker.

Woodward connected with Ryan Lougheed on an 83-yard scoring play for a 14-0 lead early in the second quarter, then capped a 10-play, 73-yard drive with an 8-yard pass to Mike Robinson.

The Warriors added a 42-yard field goal by Jason McGregor with 4.1 seconds left in the half.

Springfield dropped to 1-2 on the season.

The Buzzards struggled to move the ball throughout the game, especially through the air. Quarterback Jeremy Shay had four passes intercepted - all by Rogue safety Bruce Franklin - and lost a fumble at the end of a run.

The Buzzards had a touchdown pass from Shay to Jake Jordan called back due to a procedure penalty late in the first quarter with the Warriors ahead just 7-0.

Springfield got 101 rushing from Sean Turner on 13 carries, but scored only on a safety.
